Installation and Certifications

Passive First is committed to adhering to the National Construction Code (NCC). Our quality program ensures that, as per the NCC, we only use tested and approved firestop systems that meet the Australian Standards and that these systems are installed to meet the manufacturers test and data sheet approvals.

Documentation of all works performed and completed by Passive First, is prepared as Standard and goes beyond the minimum standards required by the Australian Standards and the manufacturers approvals.

Annual MAINTENANCE INSPECTIONS - Commercial

Passive First provides comprehensive test and inspect compliance reports carried out by our Competent Fire Safety Practitioners (CFSP). These reports include photographs and are designed to meet your annual fire statement needs for the following fire safety measures:

fire seals protecting openings in fire resisting components of the buildings
fire dampers
lightweight construction
access panels and hoppers to fire resisting shafts

With over 25 years’ experience in the firestop industry, Passive First understands the importance of asset management for our clients and can also provide auditing and register reports that can be used for baseline data. All Passive First reports are supplied in a format that is easy to follow and understand.

Aldo is a director and co-founder of Passive First. Aldo has unrivalled knowledge of firestop systems that comply with the Australian Standards and is a qualified Competent Fire Safety Practitioner (CFSP).

Since 1997 Aldo has focussed his career on learning about how firestop systems work, how they are manufactured and installed and why they are required in buildings. His passion for this has led him to acquire various qualifications in fire protection and construction management. Aldo is continually striving to keep his knowledge up to date and constantly reviews updates to the standards, manufacturers test and data sheets and seeks out new products and systems.

At Passive, First Aldo endorses firestop safety measures and completes compliance checks on any building that contains a firestop system as well as inspecting and assessing firestop measures such as fire seals, fire dampers, lightweight construction, access panels and door hoppers. He is also responsible for overseeing an in-house team of firestop inspectors and providing technical support and training to his staff. If any of his clients are passionate about improving their own knowledge and understanding of passive fire systems, then he will gladly help with training and advice.
